Sir Donald Sinden (1923-2014)

Sir Donald Sinden, who co-starred with Clark Gable, Ava Gardner and Grace Kelly in the 1953 film "Mogambo," has died at the age of 90. He was a veteran of stage, screen and television productions in the United Kingdom.

In "Mogambo," a remake of the 1932 Gable-Jean Harlow-Mary Astor film and set at an outpost in Africa, Sinden played Donald Nordley, the husband of Kelly's character.

I really liked him in Walt Disney Productions' The Island at the Top of the World as the father searching for his explorer son.

I read about his passing. A great career -- great actor! I saw him onstage as Uncle Vanya many years ago. Part of a venerable tradition of British acting.
