It was pretty hot back in the 1930's, is it still too hot to air today, or is there some type of "Letty Lynton" legality issue that prevents it from being shown. I love Miriam Hopkins, and would love to see this one. I've seen snippets, and it looks awesome. Any of you seen it, and want to comment on it?? swingtime1943 Posted August 4, 2005 Share Posted August 4, 2005 There was a Pre-Code Hollywood movie series running at the FIlm Forum in New York City (www.filmforum.org) throughout the month of July -- this was one of the films that was shown. njprecode Posted August 5, 2005 Share Posted August 5, 2005 I did a small review of it on a different thread a few weeks ago, after I saw it at that Film Forum. Basically, although Miriam was wonderful in it(as she always is, one of my all-time faves, I just love her), the movie itself didn't live up to all the hype surrounding it, in my opinion. Since you didn't get a chance to see it yet, and you might someday, I won't spoil it by telling about the scnes, etc.... but I can say that the other actors in the movie for the most part were wooden and dull, and looked like rank amateurs next to Miriam, the plot was somewhat shaky and not well written in my opinion, and the ending was a bit silly. I wasn't overly impressed with the movie, but I would say that if you are a Miriam Hopkins fan, you should see it. However, I did see another Hopkins movie a few days later, called Two Kinds Of Women, and this was done much better, and was more enjoyable. The rest of the audience seemed to really like it as well, and I made a new fan for Miriam Hopkins with my friend Patricia, she loved the movie and Miriam!
