Mac_the_Nice
We streamed his Ankhon Dekhi tonight from NetFlix and found it to be quite an entertainment, let alone philosophically intriguing. It was especially a pleasure with that Hindustani music score, having all the traditional instruments, and exquisite vocals.
Tikisoo
Thanks for the reminder....I always enjoy cocooning in the winter with a good 3 hour Bollywood film. Sadly, the title you mention isn't available from my library. I chose Kapoor's directorial effort FATSO! Heh, reading the synopsis it seems to be more along HERE COMES MR JORDAN storyline than the Dom Deluise version. The Indian film industry is HUGE and still rather ignored by Americans, although Canada's large Indian population embraces the global film industry a bit more. SansFin
I am sorry to say that I came to this thread by error because I believe the subject line to refer to Raj Kapoor whose works I like very much. I know nearly nothing of Rajat Kapoor's works. I believe that I should have anticipated such confusion as there are so very many actors, directors and other performers with the name: 'Kapoor' who are active in cinema in India. SansFin
I always enjoy cocooning in the winter with a good 3 hour Bollywood film. May I recommend: Saawariya (2007)? I find it exceptionally beautiful and wonderfully touching movie.
