jakeem
Wonderful news! She definitely should be on the short list for an honorary Academy Award. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/moviesnow/la-et-mn-gena-rowlands-wins-career-achievement-honor-from-la-film-critics-20141018-story.html
TopBilled
Good for her. She's a fellow Wisconsinite.
DickLindsay
Yes, I agree. I think she's just terrific. Two films come to mind; A CHILD IS WAITING (1963) with Judy Garland, Burt Lancaster and Gena Rowlands. She plays the mother of a mentally challenged son and she does it brilliantly. also, the original production of GLORIA (1980); she was nominated for an oscar but lost to Sissy Spacek (good year for actresses), and ditto with the Golden Globe for that year. But, she was absolutely brilliant in that film. All-in-all, she is one fine actress.
