jakeem
Tonight's edition of CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman" is Dave's last new episode before the holidays. That means it's the final chance to enjoy Letterman's annual TV Christmas traditions (he's calling it quits on May 20, 2015). Letterman's holiday episode is when actor-comedian-radio host Jay Thomas shows up to recount an unforgettable 1970s incident involving Clayton Moore, the star of TV's "The Lone Ranger." Then Thomas competes with the talk-show host in a football-throwing contest to see who can knock an oversized meatball from the top of a studio Christmas tree. But the best part is when the great Darlene Love shows up to sing her 1963 holiday classic "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)," backed by bandleader Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra. She's been doing it on Letterman's late-night shows on NBC and CBS since 1986. As the following compilation shows, the segment has become a bigger and bigger production every year. Man, a lot of famous people like Stephen! Craig Ferguson, on the other hand, is going out with a whimper. Although it was fun to see the man behind the skeleton. Dargo
Apparently Craig Ferguson is doing the same dance tonight. And, revealing the two humans in the horse. I thought Craig's final ending was pretty clever, with him asking "Secretariat" to take his head off and reveal himself and it was Bob Newhart, and then it segued into a takeoff of Bob's final "Newhart" episode, but this time with Craig waking up in bed telling he had a weird dream about hosting a late night talk show to his "wife" played by Drew Carey. (...and maybe especially to people who remember that Moore fought tooth 'n nail in efforts to "stay in character" for years after the run of his show ceased)

It was a great ending but don't forget the song "Don't Stop Believing" from "The Sopranos" finale and the "St Elsewhere" snowglobe final shot. I was laughing as soon as I heard the TARDIS from "Doctor Who". Also I cannot get the opening song out of my head. I have been singing it all day. Late night television will never be the same. It's almost as if he found new ways to tell the same basic tale!

It's almost as if he found new ways to tell the same basic tale! Yeah true, but I think he's used that phrase "Herbed-Up" since the first time, hasn't he?! (...and he always pronounced the make of his old car as a "VAL-vo" too, for some reason!) LOL
