BROADWAY SERENADE, new for TCM ??

This one and THE GOLDEN FLEECING have not aired since I started watching TCM back in 2008. I figured they had to be in the Turner Library since MGM made them. But when we get all those showings of LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, there is less and less time to show all of what's truly available through Turner.

Glad these finally showed up today!

I'm watching BROADWAY SERENADE again, Fred. I love this movie. The sepia-toned cinematography gives it a unique look.

It's nice to see Frank Morgan doing a slightly romantic type role-- loved the scene where he proposed in the back of the car.

One of the street scenes with the snow fluttering down reminded me of THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER (probably the same set was used and the same snow machine).

This is definitely one of 1939's forgotten ones. What a gem-- especially Busby Berkeley's incredible finale.
