Sepiatone
Every time I happen to catch either CHARADE or THE MARATHON MAN, and either gets to the scenes outside of their respective OPERA HOUSES, one will remind me of the other. I humorously wait for a SOCCER BALL to start bouncing towards CARY GRANT, or for the voice of WALTER MATTHAU to ask ROY SCHEIDER, "Is it SAFE?" Do you suppose John Schlesinger was inspired by CHARADE in some way? As I don't seem to recall too much about an opera house in the BOOK "The Marathon Man". Or, is it just coincidence? Mr. Gorman
It may be a coincidence . . . or it may not be . . . ya never know. But if you go to the opera sometimes and see a bouncing ball when leaving I'd recommend getting the hell out of there fast!
