A Notorious Affair was on during the wee hours--the usual TCM ploy of burying interesting rarely shown stuff.....Billie Dove and Kay Francis.... They probably won't show it again in the next 10 years. Why is all the good stuff buried and all the shown-to-death CRAP shown during normal waking hours?

My friend, it's time to invest in a DVD recorder. I got one a few months ago and use it almost everyday. The model I got came with a 100Gig hard drive, which I highly recommend. For instance, tomorrow I'm recording nearly 20 hours of Norma Shearer's films which then can be dubbed to DVD later on. BTW, Norma Shearer is one of my favs in case you couldn't tell :)

It's simple. TCM has to try and continue to build on it's audience base and to do that they must show the well-known popular classics during the prime viewing hours. Instead of blaming them for your inability to record something, be thankful that they show those little-known films at all. Let's be honest the vaste majority of the films that turn up at 5am would be of no interest to the average movie viewer today. Nobody does more to shown these great little gems than TCM.

showing Ava Gardner is show boat every month is not winning new converts.... TCM needs to mix them up... how will anyone know who Billie Dove is unless they show the films during normal hours? Same policy goes for Star of the Month... Is there ever a surprise? Nope
