roverrocks
Viewed the wonderful SERAPHINE (2008) yesterday. A wonderful French/Belgian film about a remarkable life and painting obsession of a real-life otherworldly ethereal woman named Seraphine Louis and known as Seraphine de Senlis to the art world. Five out of five stars for me. Winner of 7 Cesar Awards. Seraphine.htm Seraphine.htm
laffite
I watched Seraphine and liked it. It is available on Netflix. Seraphine draws on a fairly typical but devout attachment to traditional religion along with a rather precociously intimate personal connection with physical nature for inspiration. The scenes depicting this last are particularly interesting. The slow pace of the film helps with the overall fascination of the story as it unfolds. Very moving, overall.
