Lets see if you know your western villains.  These guys were in hundreds of movies and TV shows, usually as villains who get shot or beaten up by the hero.  Can you name them?

Everyone is correct.  Good job.  We've got them all now.  That photo of Wilke that I posted is from "High Noon".  He is the one who gets shot by Grace Kelly.  In fact, he may have died in more movies than any other actor, although Leo Gordon may be right up there with him.  I. Stanford Jolley often played the leader of the outlaw gang.  He was usually the last of the outlaws to be apprehended or killed.  Lauter, Healey and Elam were extremely busy in the 50's and 60's.  Elam, with those wierd eyes, terrorized Tyrone Power and Susan Hayward in "Rawhide".  Harry Lauter actually played a good guy in the TV series "Tales Of The Texas Rangers".

Here is Jack Elam at his maniacal best:

How many bullets did Tyrone Power have in that gun?

Well, three people got two faces each, so any of them can take the thread.

No takers after a couple of days?  Here's one to pass the time.

These folks, who all appeared in movies,  all have more famous siblings.  Do you know who these people are and who their brothers or sisters are?

Number 5 was a big band singer who was in a few movies.  She had a more famous sibling who sang and acted.

Very good, Rich.  Can any one name no.3 and no. 4?  No. 3 is foreign born with an Oscar winning brother.  No.4 is American, also with an Oscar winning brother.  Her mother once gave acting lessons to Henry Fonda.

We have them all now.  It was either scsu1975 or Mr. 6666 who we were waiting for.  Since Rich got three in this last group, he gets the thread.

It's Helena Carter, who was in some action movies in the late forties and early fifties.  She was also in "Invaders From Mars" with Jimmy Hunt in 1953.

Don't confuse her with Helena Bonham Carter, the British actress.

Did he grow some whiskers and become "The Most Interesting Man In The World"?

If so, his name is Jonathan Goldsmith.

Jonathan Goldsmith used the name Jonathan Lippe throughout the sixties and seventies.  He went back to his birth name of Goldsmith in the eighties.  I should have mentioned that in my response.

Now, here's a fellow who was very busy in the 50's and 60's.  Do you know his name?

The first photo is from an episode of "The Rifleman".  The second pic is from an episode of "Adventures In Paradise", one of Lavenderblue's favorite shows.

Years later, that blonde hair had turned gray when he appeared on "Dynasty".

Dubbins must have appeared in about 10000 Dragnet episodes, playing everything from a dog trainer to a white supremacist.

Rich,  I think Virginia Gregg tops the list of "Dragnet" appearances, but Don Dubbins must be near the top of the list..

Yes, Lavenderblue, it's Don Dubbins.  I figured that if I posted a picture of Garner McKay, it might elevate your blood pressure, and I wouldn't want to do that.  Would you like to post the next one, Lav?
