Princess of Tap
Here is one of today's well known TV personalities as a child. Can you guess who it is? I really don't know. It kind of looks like a girl and then it kind of looks like Joe Scarborough. LOL
MilesArcher
It's not Joe Scarborough. Here is this youngster as a teenager. Now, do you know him?
MilesArcher
It's been awhile and no one has gotten it, so I'll tell you that it's Ryan Seacrest.
MilesArcher
Who is this fellow? He played football in high school with a leather helmet, so you know he's no kid anymore. He's done some acting, but is better known for his singing.
lavenderblue19
Willie Nelson? Clicking on the photo to enlarge it says Nelson so I'll guess Willie?
MilesArcher
Well, it's not Ozzie, so yes, it's Willie Nelson in his younger days. Do you know who this high school kid is?
Princess of Tap
Well, it's not Ozzie, so yes, it's Willie Nelson in his younger days. Do you know who this high school kid is? Miles, I almost didn't even look at this one because Ryan Seacrest wasn't really on my radar as a classic personality or really anybody that I would have an interest in. So I thought maybe you'd gone Rogue on us. But then I took one look anyway - - and since I'm a Trekkie - I can see immediately-- that's Captain Kirk! Or the guy that says, "I used to be Captain Kirk!"- - William Shatner. Great choice!
MilesArcher
Yes,Princess, it's William Shatner. No, I wasn't "going rogue" when I posted Ryan Seacrest's photos. After posting literally hundreds of photos on this thread and similar ones on these boards, I am continually searching for celebrities whose features have changed a bit over the years, at least to the point where it might take a little while for someone to identify them. A few years ago I sort of took over from Metz and Kid Dabb in posting celebrity photos. Fred C. Dobbs started this thread, but he has since passed away. I am trying not to repeat too many photos and also not to make them too obscure, such as lots of foreign celebrities or silent movie actors and actresses. One or two may pop up from time to time. There are plenty of character actors and actresses, as well as some TV personalities, so there will be a diverse assortment to choose from. I just wish that more folks had the ability to post photos here. Now here is a character actress who often played women with a gruff exterior, but underneath was a heart of gold. Who is she? lavenderblue19
Helen Westley
MilesArcher
That's correct, Lavender. Helen Westley was in several movies with Shirley Temple. She was the gruff old woman, Marilla, in "Anne Of Green Gables" and she played Parthy in the 1936 version of "Show Boat". She also played the title role in "Roberta". And now, some more older movie actresses. We may have had some of them previously. Can you name them all? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. They played mothers, aunts, housekeepers, and friends of the younger stars. Who are they?
Princess of Tap
1) Sara Haden, Andy Hardy's Aunt 2) Aileen MacMahon, She went from being a gold digger of 1933 to Judy Garland's beloved assistant in Judy's last musical, I Could Go On Singing. 3) Helen Broderick, She supported Fred Astaire on Broadway in The Bandwagon and in the movies in Top Hat and Swing Time. Additional accomplishment was being the mother of Broderick Crawford. The last two I've seen, I think, in some "B"'s and in some serials, but I'll have to think about their names. lavenderblue19
#4. Mary Nash- wasn't she the mean Fraulein in Heidi and the mean woman in the Little Princess both with Shirley Temple and she was Virginia Weidler's and Katharine Hepburn's mother in The Philadelphia Story ? MilesArcher
Yes, she also starred in the "Jiggs And Maggie" series with Joe Yule. He was Mickey Rooney's father. It was based on the popular comic strip. Thank you, Princess and Lavender. Now, we just had some older actresses. Here are some young actresses. None of them became major stars like Shirley Temple or Margaret O'Brien, but they all made quite a few movies, sometimes as the star. Can you name them all? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. The youngsters in photos 1 and 2 once played sisters in a movie. The girls in photos 5,6, and 7 made a film together about girls at a summer camp.
