MilesArcher
Yes, Lavender. Eilene Janssen played Pixie Croffman in "About Mrs. Leslie". She also starred in a series of juvenile westerns with Michael Chapin in the early fifties. By the way, Sharyn Moffett and Connie Marshall played the daughters of Cary Grant and Myrna Loy in "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House". Ann Carter was one of the stars of "The Curse Of The Cat People", and Gloria Jean, Ann Gillis, and Shirley Mills all were featured in "The Under-Pup", along with Virginia Weidler. Gloria Jean is now in her nineties and living in Hawaii. she has a YouTube video featuring some of her old movies. Here it is: Thanks to Lavenderblue and Shutoo for naming all of these young actresses.

Louis B Mayer I 'll think about 1 and 5 Oh yeah, those 2 gals were in Babes In Arms 1. Betty Jaynes 5. June Pressier
MilesArcher
You got them all, Lavender. I noticed in the Candids thread that Judy had a birthday a few days ago. This photo was an MGM studio swimming party for Judy's 17th birthday in June of 1939. Now, can you name the young folks in this photo? This picture was taken in 1963. It includes several child stars of that time. Can you name them? Years later, one of those kids got married. Here he is with several former child stars at the wedding. Can you name them? Princess of Tap
I can name all in both photos (although 1 of them not sure of), but I'll wait to let others play The first photo is almost too easy to bother with - - but I actually don't know who the blonde hair girl is in the middle. I'm just going to guess Evelyn Rudie or Patsy McCormack? It's the usual gang round up-- Flip Mark who was on Guestward Ho!, Angela Cartwright--Danny Thomas Show, Jon Provost-- Lassie, John Megna --To Kill a Mockingbird and my childhood best friend's favorite Jay North from Dennis the Menace. The bottom photo is hard to see, but second from left looks like Jon Provost and behind him I think I see Chip Douglas --Stanley Livingston and second from right is Paul Peterson and next to him on the end is the best man who looks like the son of Lucas McCain, Johnny Crawford. But I have no idea who the others are.

MilesArcher
Both Lavenderblue and Princess did very well with these last two photos. For the record, Here are the names: Left to right: Flip Mark, Angela Cartwright, Susan Gordon, Jon Provost, Charles Herbert, and Jay North. It was Jon Provost's 13th birthday party, but he looks to be about ten. The second photo was taken at Jon Provost's wedding. Left to right: Brandon Cruz, Jon Provost, Stanley Livingston, Jeanne Russell, Larry Mathews, Paul Peterson, and Johnny Crawford. Johnny Crawford's orchestra, which plays vintage music, entertained at the reception. For those of you too young to remember, Brandon Cruz starred in "The Courtship Of Eddie's Father". Larry Mathews played Richie Petrie on "The Dick Van Dyke Show. Paul Peterson was the son on "The Donna Reed Show", and Johnny Crawford was Mark on "The Rifleman". I'm sorry that the photos were so small. I couldn't find larger copies. Here is a clip that will bring back more memories of child stars. If you can't recognize some, just ask. More photos to come. MilesArcher
Now, I'm about to drop a bombshell on you, actually several "Bombshells". You're all familiar with Marilyn Monroe's appeal and the fact that several studios, including her own, tried to find young women, mostly blonde, to rival Marilyn. Some, like Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren became quite well known. Some others were less successful. I'm not going to use that old line about them having small parts, because, as you know, none of their parts were small. Some of their roles, however, were rather minor. Here are some actresses of the forties and fifties who were considered to be "Bombshells". Can you identify them? 1. 2. 3. This gal actually started before Marilyn. 4. 5. This one is European. 6. 7. This gal started in the 1940's. She was once in a movie with Gene Kelly. 8.
Princess of Tap
2. I always was a big fan of Joi Lansing. She was Classic Television's Marilyn Monroe. She started out as Bob Cummings top model on Love that Bob, but ended up on The Beverly Hillbillies as Scruggs or Flatts' sophisticated "Citified-wife" who Granny couldn't teach a "dern" thing to. Sadly the very thing that helped to make her a big star also killed her-- breast implants--which led to breast cancer in her early forties. Princess of Tap
The last lady at number 8 is Barbara Nichols. She was the number one cheap blonde in the "A" movies and in the top -Classic TV shows. I always felt that her role in The Sweet Smell of Success should have garnered her an Oscar nomination. She played Tony Curtis's girlfriend whom he forced to do things that were entirely unfair - - but this truly showed his character's real personality. Barbara also shined in one Untouchables episode co-starring with the great Nehemiah Persoff, who embodied Al Capone's bookkeeper, Jake "Greasy Thumb" Guzik. Barbara had singing and dancing talent, along with her looks and acting ability. So she proved that there was nothing cheap about her professionalism as a performer. Princess of Tap
Number one is Sheree North. She made the rounds and was in some "A" movies, but I'm not a fan. So I don't know very much about her.

MilesArcher
Very good, Rich. Cleo Moore and Beverly Michaels both worked with "B" movie maker Hugo Haas. Haas dropped Beverly in favor of Cleo. Beverly had a sort of hard edge to her. She made a couple of "women in prison" movies. I saw her in a TV episode of "Cheyenne" on the Encore Western Channel. We don't have number 7 yet. She was known as "The Body". She also started in movies in the 1940's. Any guesses?
Princess of Tap
Let's see-- I got 1,2,& 8. Apparently we still need 7-- Marie "The Body" McDonald-- was only interesting to me because she and Debbie Reynolds shared a husband. That Infamous shoe magnet, Harry Karl. Marie also co-starred in a film with Gene Kelly called Living in a Big Way.
MilesArcher
Yes, Marie McDonald had quite a life, short as it was, with six husbands and several affairs, including one with mobster Bugsy Seigel, Princess, I hope that you meant that Harry Karl was a shoe "magnate" and not "magnet". Since Princess got four and Rich got four, we have a tie, but Princess doesn't post pictures, so Rich (scsu1975) gets to post next. I'll be out all day, so I'll check back this evening.
