Looking for old horror / alien movie 60s,70s or 80s

Hey guys,

 

Desperately trying to find a movie, that scared the hell out of me when i was young,

what i remember about the movie:

 

- main character is a women (maybe mother that tries to protect her son, not sure)

- aliens of some sort have invaded and taken over some sort of facility

- i think the facilty has a radio station that sends out a strange signal

- the signal somehow slows down the human metabolism but the women finds something to inject that she can still move, somehow the aliens made a lot of that serum, dont remember why though

- in the end she fights against one alien that drives around in a open car but as she shoots him he is invicible, then she shoots around herself (it think because she somehow realized the alien is just controling the human and is invisible) and she manages to kill the alien and the human just keeps driving in a circle in that open buggy or what it is
