NipkowDisc
what a come down for the great basil rathbone. he goes from clever dialogue with errol flynn, claude rains and olivia de haviland to "I don't bargain with mortals. I destroy them!" oh brother. those irritating midgets harassing the princess. what the hell did they want? and the dragon was just so laughable. well, at least we learn that medieval sorcerers had TV. rosebette
At the end of his career, Rathbone was in fairly serious debt. Due to the lavish spending of his wife, Ouida (all those parties!), they really hadn't saved much for their later years, so he took whatever parts he could get. I couldn't bear to sit through The Magic Sword myself, but I really enjoyed The Puppet People. There was something delightfully campy about that one.
