roverrocks
Just finished viewing the finest Japanese movie I have ever seen. An extraordinary movie with one of the greatest love stories ever put on the silver screen. Ostensibly a Samurai movie but so much much more. A movie of duty, loyalty, courage, friendship, and love most of which is told in flashbacks by an old man who sees an old photo from his long-ago Samurai past in a doctor's office. If you want to see a moving, emotional, well-crafted movie that will stay with you then somehow view WHEN THE LAST SWORD IS DRAWN (2003) any way you can. I viewed this epic on Amazon Prime TV. Two hours well spent on this award winning Japanese movie. I have no idea how this movie was not up for a Best Foreign Film Oscar. Extraordinary movie.
