spencerl964
My pal>Mr. Cliff Aliperti, has just posted his final "Newsletter" for his huge & exceptional website: www.thingsandotherstuff.com Apparently, it's of a financial nature & he cannot keep his "Classic Cinema Website Going!" I do believe he may still be able to keep thee actual website, but no more great "Newsletters" In any-case, most that adore TCM, would also love the type of things & other stuff he has on it-(vintage motion picture collectibles)-(just had a 2nd chapter on "Movie Books"-(mostly pre 1950's as an example) Give it a look when you get a minute, please! There are soo-many on the net that have the $$$ & do not know what they are doing-(especially in this arena) & this guy knows his "STUFF!" Thank You
spencerl964
& as for "TCM's Silent Sundays" Mr. Aliperti also had/has a section of this massive website solely dedicated to "THE SILENT ERA!" It was written by a Mrs. Tammy Stone. Among his all-time favs: "Sullivan's Travels" (1942) (Paramount) & of actors: *"The King: Clark Gable"-(1901-60) & Myrna Loy-(1905-93) of actresses!-(TRIVIA: The latter is now rarely mentioned as being voted: "Queen of Tinsel-Town" & in the very same movie-fans survey that voted *Clark as "King?" Of course this did not sit very well-(to say the least) with a few other now legendary ladies' Most notably: *Bette Davis-(1908-89), *Joan Crawford-(1904-77) & to a lesser degree, *Norma Shearer-(1900-83) As most have likely heard or read, she was always dubbed the un-official "Queen" of the M-G-M lot. Obviously, moviegoers of that tremendous era, thought otherwise!) Thank You & Thanks to Cliff!
