The worst possible cast selection.....

Recommended Posts

Cleopatra with Madonna in the title role.  Ben Affleck as Marc Antony and Robert De Niro as Julius Caesar.  And Steve Buscemi as Octavian.  With a 300 million dollar budget of course.

Sylvester Stallone as the phonetics Professor Henry Higgins and Madonna as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady

I saw a "pop up" blurb somewhere....I think it was that "pawn Stars" show(someone brought in the old "Superman VS Muhammed Ali" comic book), and the blurb claimed that Stallone was campaigning for the role of SUPERMAN for the film that wound up starring Christofer Reeve, but BRANDO, who had casting approval, turned him down!   I can hear it now....

"YO!  LOIS!"

CAST A GIANT SHADOW starring Billy Barty

(...Mickey Rooney would do in a pinch here, of course)

Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride as Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler?

With these favorite lines from the movie:

Percy says to Marjorie: "You're not worth $300."

and

"Frankly, Ma, I don't give a damn."

I really would like to see some of your film suggestions.

I only wish I could think of something for Hot Spell in tribute to the good fun Nipkowdisc has (intentionally) given us with his campaign to get TCM to show it - even though he has a copy!  Good one.

Roseanne Barr and Shelley Winters star in Battle of the Bulge

Made me think of the supposed "rivalry" between "hippie" lead singer of The Doors,Jim Morrison, and Paul Revere Frontman Mark Lindsay.  CREEM MAGAZINE did an article about it, looking at it from a particular angle.  The article was fronted with "side-by-side" comparison photos af Jim, wearing tight Levi's, and Lindsay sporting tight white "Revere" costume slacks.

The article was titled:

"Rock's Battle Of The Bulge"!   ;)
