Bogie56
Thursday, May 5 Hit 1 p.m. A Night at the Opera (1935). A Marx Bros. classic There are a few Laurel & Hardy films today, one of which ... 3:15 p.m. The Devil's Brother (1933) is still on the Canadian schedule. It says it is Hal Roach too. I hope I'm not tipping off the programmer here ...
LawrenceA
I'm recording A Foreign Affair tonight. Tomorrow I'm recording High School Hellcats, because it's about hellcats...in high school. Anyone who hasn't seen A Bucket of Blood should. It's a landmark in low budget movies.

mr6666
guess I'm one of the only fans of Robin and Marian lovely, wistful, sometimes funny film with great cast & wonderful performances "a movie about the end of youth and high romance,"
limey
Tomorrow, 4/26, I'll be taping Sex Kittens Go to College, because it's about sex kittens...in college. Tomorrow I'm recording High School Hellcats, because it's about hellcats...in high school. I'm sensing a definite educational theme going on here... guess I'm one of the only fans of Robin and Marian lovely, wistful, sometimes funny film with great cast & wonderful performances "a movie about the end of youth and high romance," You are not alone - I've a soft spot for this one & usually watch when it pops up.

I was only referring to my love of the Adventures of Robin Hood. I did record Robin and Marion to re-watch later. I just decided not to watch it as it aired. I also decided not to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's as it aired because I have seen it about 10 times within the last month.

I honored Audrey by watching THE NUN`S STORY 1959, and HOW TO STEAL A MILLION 1966. Two different roles and highly enjoyable. Audrey wasn`t completely forgotton for her role as Sister Luke. She deservedly won the prestigious New York Film Critics Award for best actress. In the past month I have seen SABRINA 1954 and BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY`S 1961 so they were fresh in my mind.

Great script by Rod Serling. For the whole month of May? It is excellent. I love Robert Ryan films, period. I'd pick Seven days in may as my favourite daytime movie of seen films. My favourite movie in the evening is Bad Day at Black Rock. However, I plan to record all the films I have not seen and those not seen in a long time. GregoryPeckfan
Were you aware that 'The Set Up' was his own personal favorite? The Set-Up is one of my favourite film noir titles of all time. I can't remember how long ago I saw this for the first time. It was the only attention he got from the Academy Awards. He did not win, but it was a powerful movie told in real time. I have never been a boxing fan, but the boxing world takes centre stage in a large portion of film noir titles. I have never watched a real boxing match in real time. But I watch a lot of movies with boxing in them.
speedracer5
Were you aware that 'The Set Up' was his own personal favorite? This is the one that I'm going to record. I think I already have most of these titles recorded from the Noir festival last summer and still haven't watched them yet. I love sports movies, especially ones that feature boxing and football. I also love watching boxing and football. Combine my love of sports movies with noir and I am confident that I'll really enjoy this film. Glad to hear that Robert Ryan agrees with me. Lol.

It was Crossfire, where he plays an anti-Semite. Sigh. But Ryan was a real life boxer.

Bogie56
Saturday, May 7 Hit 6:15 p.m. The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951). Classic alien on earth film with iconic score by Bernard Herrmann.
LawrenceA
Dark of the Sun (1968) is a solid, tough action flick starring Rod Taylor and Jim Brown that I would recommend. It suffers from some sloppy editing here and there, but it's still worth a look.

speedracer5
5/8 HITS Mildred Pierce. Nobody needs me to promote this film, but this was an excellent movie, it actually made me like Joan Crawford more (I wasn't a fan prior) and I discovered Ann Blyth. She was excellent. MISS Please Don't Eat the Daisies. I like Doris Day and David Niven fine, but ugh, I cannot stand this movie. Whoever thought it'd be a good idea to have an adult imitating a baby dubbing a baby's crying and babbling is obnoxious and ruins the film for me. Why didn't they just record a real baby's noises? I'm planning on recording Bunny Lake is Missing. I like Otto Preminger's films and the premise of the film sounds very interesting. --- I still have Light in the Piazza and I Remember Mama recorded from the last time they were on.
