sagebrush
I'm looking forward to ELVIS: THAT'S THE WAY IT IS. Unbelievably, I've never seen any of Elvis' live performances. My mother was a big fan. She and my dad saw him in Vegas. She had seen Frank Sinatra when she was a Bobby-Soxer and said Elvis was the only performer who could de-throne Sinatra in her memory. 😄She played his records quite often in her room in the afternoons. When he died, she reacted as though he was a family member or close friend. I'm also looking forward to the ABBA movie. They were a huge act when I was a pre-teen. I remember watching them on TV and thinking how beautiful were the voices of Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. I was amazed to hear that they learned their songs in English phonetically and didn't speak a work of English.

Wonder what she'd think about today's musical artists.

My mom was a pop culture junkie and loved everything that was current.😄 She loved Disco, Techno, Pop, Country, Rap, Standards, Musicals, Big Bands- all of it! She was a fan of Madonna , too.

sagebrush
Interesting that the TCM schedule on the page header doesn't include FADE TO BLACK between SHAKE! OTIS AT MONTEREY and SAY AMEN,SOMEBODY- THE GOOD NEWS MUSICAL on it's schedule. It's a documentary about Jay-Z and includes footage from his Madison Square Garden concert.

sagebrush
A POEM IS A NAKED PERSON is really interesting. Leon Russell is a familiar name in music but I wasn't really aware of all the session work he did for other musicians. For me personally, it is his Bluegrass recordings I like.
