Kid Dabb
One of my favorite films, with quite a cast. This one was nominated for an Oscar for Best Color Cinematography - sadly, I've noticed it appears to have faded a bit, with some scenes having pulsating color. As such a notable film, and with it's filmed record of our pre-WWII Navy, I would think this would make a good candidate for a proper restoration. This film was released just four months before the attack on Pearl Harbor.
FredCDobbs
Kid, I think there was a big mistake in this film.... showing all the bi-planes. I'll bet the German and Japanese military commanders laughed at that, since they had already designed several much-faster single-wing planes, in preparation for attacks on the US and England. Did we really send any of those bi-planes up to fight Japanese Zeros??
Kid Dabb
I believe most or all were used as trainers. Our Navy had quite a few of those yellow beasts. We did have mono-winged aircraft prior to this:
