bhryun
Does anyone here subscribe to Classic Images? I'm thinking of subscribing myself and I wanted to know what someone who already has it thinks. Does it have glossy pages or newsprint? Are the stories interesting and fairly accurate? Good pictures? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

nickdimeo
The magazine is in black and white, resembling a newspaper like The New York Post. The articles are very accurate and run the gamit of all things classic from silent movies to about the late 60's. It's probably the best magazine about classic films, outside Films of The Golden Age magazine.

markfp2
In my opinion, Classic Images one of the two best classic film publications. The other is CI's sister publication "Films of the Golden Age". I've been a very delighted subscriber for over 30 years. Back then it was called "The 8mm Collector" and later became known as "The Classic Film Collector". With the advent of VCRs and later DVDs it broadened it's scope from basically a collectors newspaper to a more general publication devoted to films of the past. Its editor is both a collector and a life-long film buff. Each issue is crammed with stories about actors, not just stars, but great character actors too, A and B-movies, studios of the past and everything else related to them. You'll also find loads of ads from people buying, selling and trading films, tapes, posters etc. Of course, if you want to know about what's playing at the local multiplex or who's sleeping with who this isn't for you. If, however, you love movies on TCM, you'll love both of these superb publications. Check out their website at classicimages.com
chandler5710
Do they have classifieds for collectors? That's what I really miss about Hollywood Studio Magazine, the collector community. It's just not the same on ebay.
markfp2
Yes, they both have classified ads. In fact, you get a free 25 word ad when you subscribe or renew.
