HoldenIsHere
Thanks, Randy, for posting information about this contest. I'm wondering why Canadians aren't eligible but maybe it's because a prize is being awarded.

RMeingast
<< Thanks, Randy, for posting information about this contest. I'm wondering why Canadians aren't eligible but maybe it's because a prize is being awarded. >> * No problems, HIH... And Canadians may not get to participate in any TCM contests, BUT we are going to get Soylent, starting today - June 15, 2015:http://www.thestar.com/news/world/2015/06/15/soylent-the-popular-meal-replacement-comes-to-canada.html Back to the contest, an example tweet from somebody named "Brokenbridge" is here:@tcm @theblcklst #NoirSummer "his thundering suavity was all he needed, we were going to morocco, and i didn't have s say in the matter" Looks like the person above needs to fix the typo in the tweet above. Otherwise the Facebook rules page for TCM has other information for entrants such as the hashtag #Noirsummer has to be included and is 25 characters, so that leaves only 115 characters for the rest of the script. The script has to be original, no quoting from an existing script. Also spaces do count as characters. SueSueApplegate
Thanks, RMeingast, for the kind mention here in these threads. It has been so much fun to read the comments on many of the threads concerning the "Summer of Darkness" and the contest entrants on Twitter. It's wonderful to see so many Message Board members interacting about different aspects of films noir. Congratulations to Richard Edwards, Shannon Clute, TCM, and the TCM Message Boards on such a fabulous event for classic film lovers everywhere and the new aficionados of noir.
RMeingast
Contest winners as chosen by Ed Burns are: Bob Joles: "As I listened to the monotonous staccato of rain on my window, she walked in. An hourglass figure with time on her side." Lex Joy: “If I didn’t love you,” she retorted, “I’d have told the mob where you are instead of the cops.” Congrats!
SansFin
I feel it unfortunate that Capuchin could not enter. My favorite of his written lines in this theme is: "It's hard to know what to say at a time like this, when the police find you standing over your ex-wife's body with a warm pistol in your hand and the whir of the home movie camera saying it captured everything that happened in the last ten minutes."
