28Silent
Although I never cared for the show nor did I care for the movie, the real murderous situation that has recently happen and the Old t.v. show Dukes of Hazard did not cause it .I am trying not to be political ,but, we are dealing with a popular TV show .Time Warner has withdrew the t.v. from t.v. land in the wake of the situation that happen .The fact is that the show did not cause it .Why are they withdrawing it?.Since Thomas Edison it's been films strictly for profit and not art first fans of entertainment first then profit second The scissors or play heavily with the profit of Hollywood .The idea was that no movie would chase any member of the audience away ,so they would not loose customers .This is typical of the greed and selfishness of the business. In the 1920's and 30' Hollywood exploited the conservative family values in order to increase profit .Then by the time the Vietnam war came along they exploited the moderate liberal family values.Today they are exploiting phony liberal values for profit .This is unethical and wrong .In defense of the dukes of hazard I want to say that time Warner is just exploiting the situation to increase their profit.I am fearful that they might self ban all of our classic film that reflect our racism of our past .like the Jazz singer or the Eddie cantor films, due to black face,,Our anti Nazi film Produced in Hollywood during the war ,due to the uniforms and symbols, may be even the great dictator. Worst no more playing of gone with the wind. I am a fan of bad film history as much as good film history. If this get bad i'll have to dump t,c.m Worst as you got black market prints of sing of the south and Porgy and Bess .Gone with the wind and other film reflecting our prejudice of the past could go black market too. This is because Hollywood is so addicted to profit that they will denies any facts of life that the will slow it down. This is wrong What Hollywood is done is wrong .They need to be stopped .Bring back the dukes of hazard on t.v. land Well I'm never going to watch that station again.Hollywood needs to reform and start putting all fans of entertainment first art first and profit second .Business regulation against their greed and selfishness and exploiting situation like what happen for profit needs to be enforced

darkblue
Ridiculous show. Just plain stupid that people would watch more than one episode of something like that. And yet it runs for years. What a world.

johnm001
When THE DUKES OF HAZZARD was originally on the air, my two older sons watched it. It droned on in the background, and I paid very little attention to it. Recently, I discovered the show running on CMT. What caught my attention, was that the print was very high def-looking, and the image filled my widescreen television. I was impressed by how it look, but while watching it, I found myself laughing out loud at the ridiculousness of it. That, and how much the cast seemed to really be enjoying what they were doing. I became a fan! America has become an asylum, run by victimized inmates.

HoldenIsHere
Hollywood needs to reform and start putting all fans of entertainment first art first and profit second . Profit has always been the driving force behind "Hollywood." I don't forsee "Hollywood" ever abandoning the capitalist model in favor of the socialist model that you are proposing.

hamradio
If anyone is offended by the flag on top of the General Lee, 98% of the time you can't even see it except in rare shots or viewed from overhead. Beside people are too caught up with the car spending a lot of time up in the air.
Dargo
America has become an asylum, run by victimized inmates. Now whaddaya mean "has become" here, John ol' boy? America has ALWAYS been "an asylum", as in... ...and was based on the concept of it being "an asylum of victimized people" from all around this ol' world. And, some make good and some make bad in this great country of ours and once they get here. (...and from my perspective, those who "make good" compared to those who "make bad" is just about at the same rate as it ALWAYS was)
JamesJazGuitar
About time! I guess some people prefer the place is run by storm troopers. This was a private company making a decision about the TV shows they schedule. How can any libertarian leaning conservative be against that. Now if the government was to ban the show or similar ones or movies, I would be the first in line to protest that.
