TopBilled
Betty White and Bob Barker - various animal charities Angelina Jolie - various humanitarian groups George Clooney - aid for Darfur Leonardo DiCaprio - environmental causes Brigitte Bardot - animal rights Great list. A lot of actresses volunteer to read to children in impoverished schools. Mary Stuart used to do that a lot. And Barbara Bain and Tina Louise still do. In fact, Tina wrote a children's book.
LawrenceA
There are a lot of actors and actresses that work for specific disease and disorder charities, too. Whether it's appearing in TV spots, speaking to assemblies, and hosting or participating in events to raise awareness and/or funds for research. Terence Howard for colorectal cancer. Danny Glover for a neurological disorder. Michael J. Fox and Parkinson's disease. Christopher Reeve and spinal injury research. Julianne Moore has done work with Alzheimer's groups since acting in Still Alice. Marlo Thomas and St. Jude's Hospital. Yul Brynner's anti-smoking commercials before his death, on behalf of the American Lung Association.
