GregoryPeckfan
Bizarre Hercule Poirot casting: Tony Randall in The Alphabet Murders as Poirot. No attempt to make him physically resemble Poirot at all by adding heavy clothing to add weight or surrounding him with taller actors to make him appear 5'4" tall. It has been a while since I have seen it, but I think he is taller than the actor playing Captain Hastings.

TopBilled
Marsha, Many of the titles you mention are on Hulu. And I haven't had a chance to see a lot of them yet. Though I did watch two of the Marple mysteries with Geraldine McEwan. Excellent production values on that series, and I'll definitely be looking at the other episodes. Definitely a Matt Houston fan here. *** Marsha, On your list of British detective series, I didn't see A Touch of Frost with David Jason. This program is on Hulu and I rather enjoy it. TopBilled
I'm watching an episode of the series right now. This guy's great. He's kind of quirky, like Columbo. It aired for 18 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Touch_of_Frost
MarshaKatz
Hi, TopBilled, Thanks for reminding me about David Jason in "A Touch of Frost" one of the best TV series crime solving dramas of all time. I don't want to interrupt your enjoyment. Everything about this series is top-notch. All the series I've mentioned I have seen on PBS either under the name of the series of under the Masterpiece Mystery banner.

MarshaKatz
Rosemary and Thyme - Felicity Kendal and Pam Ferris play two gardeners who travel all over Europe and beyond refurbishing existing gardens and planting new ones and in their spare time are amateur sleuths. It's a terrific series. The scripts and actors are wonderful and the locations are a treat for the eye to behold. Breathtaking gardens and landscapes and locales. Inspector Adam Dalgliesh - Excellent long-running British TV series based on the novels of P. D. James and starring the extraordinary actor Roy Marsden as Dalgliesh. All the crime solving series I've mentioned I've watched on PBS either under the Masterpiece Mystery banner or under the series name. Sherlock - Benedict Cumberbatch & Martin Freeman co-star as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson in the 21st Century series of Sherlock Holmes mysteries, but keeping within the original Conan Doyle stories. Also on PBS under "Masterpiece Mystery". Grantchester - James Norton and Robson Green - based on the collection of short stories, The Grantchester Mysteries, written by James Runcie. Sidney Chambers (Norton) is an Anglican Vicar with a sideline of sleuthing with the reluctant help of Detective Inspector Geordie Keating (Green) - on PBS stations under the "Masterpiece Mystery".
