Jlewis
two hundred thirty-second category Popular short film series Joe McDoakes TravelTalks The Three Stooges Joe McDoakes... the best are masterpieces and the worst are... still highly entertaining Our Gang, specifically the 1929-35 period Charley Chase, especially his 20s films Leon Errol's RKO comedies Warner Bros. "Melody Masters" (1931-46) are probably the best of the jazz reels, although a few early 30s Paramount shorts with Louis Armstrong and Cab Calloway are great too I like the Traveltalks too, but I like a variety of travelogues, particularly those of Warner Brothers and Fox ("Magic Carpets") Probably my favorite animated series are Bugs Bunny & the others in the Looney Tunes, UPA, MGM's Droopy, the best of Zagreb and National Film Board of Canada... and even Soyuzmultfilm, especially their sixties stuff. My top 5 "essential" DVD collections...
LonesomePolecat
Not sure if this is what you mean, but what came to mind were the WB Looney Tunes and the Disney Merrie Melodies. Although my favorite set of Disney cartoons are the Goofy "instructional" shorts like HOW TO SWIM, HOW TO SKI, THE OLYMPIC GAMES, etc

TopBilled
Eleanor Powell was a minister in the Unity Church. That's right. And we should say Dolores Hart became a nun (later, a Mother Superior) in the Catholic church.

I think some refuse to play nude scenes nowadays, because of their religions. Earlier we were talking about Mormon actors. Dean Jagger played the title character in 20th Century Fox's 1940 motion picture BRIGHAM YOUNG. Later in his life he joined the LDS church. But she says in her autobiography that he was afraid of doctors - - she got into a situation where she needed medical attention and as a result of not getting that medical attention or getting it too late, she wasn't able to have any more children. And she really regretted that.

Doris also said that when she was in the middle of the situation which I believe I recall was a miscarriage and had complications - - that the actress Charlotte Greenwood, who was a Christian Scientist, came to her bedside and read Christian Scientist prayers for her for hours on end.
