film lover 293
Hitchcock had his own production company in the late 1940's--produced two films, "Rope" (1948) & "Under Capricorn" (1949)--both were financial failures. Both films are rarely shown--but "Under Capricorn is scheduled for an Oct. 10th showing. UC was the final Hitchcock film I got to see after 20 years of searching for a print--was a VCR tape--not good quality--but good enough to tell film was better than the disaster 1949 critics rated it.
