Thanks for that bit of info, Magoo.  I also read the book, and he had some rather not-so-nice things to say about several of his co-stars.  Looking over the list, I'm reminded of so many good films that Anne Francis did.  OK.  Back to the game.

Not to belabor it, but I read the book because I became infatuated with Eleanor Powell, his first wife and mother to his only son...the author of his biography. Eleanor Powell was treated very shabbily by Ford. She was a huge star compared to him when they married. She gave up her career at it's height to have a family. Ford went on to stardom and eventually left her behind. She tried to revive it after it was too late and never really recovered. She died of cancer, too young, living in a small apartment. I always kind of liked Glenn Ford movies, now I'm not much of a fan.

Anne Francis

She was in a few films with Glenn Ford. In his son's biography of him, Francis was portrayed very favorably as a good friend to Ford, even as he was not always particularly the same in return.

Hint 2: in The Americanization of Emily, she plays Julie Andrews' mother (who is the recipient of an especially withering monologue from James Garner)

Tommy Rall?

Fausterlitz has apparently not noticed your response. I double checked you answer and I think you're right. I think you are entitled to bring up the next quiz.
