GordonCole
Being one of my favorite authors, I did enjoy the film version of his book called The Killer Inside Me. Thompson's The Grifters was also well done on film but it took Bertrand Tavernier to bring Thompson's most chilling book, called Population 1280 to the screen renamed Coup de Torchon. Don't know if TCM has shown any other films based on Thompson's work?
Bogie56
I think The Getaway has been on. Coup de Torchon is great. It may have been on TCM too but I'm not certain. I see the Stacy Keach The Killer Inside Me (1976) was recently remade by Michael Winterbottom (2010) with Casey Affleck. And then there is his screenplay work with Kubrick on The Killing and Paths of Glory. Not too shabby.
GordonCole
Thx Bogie. I will admit to being surprised at how effective Casey Affleck was in the part. I had not expected such a bravura performance. Yes, Thompson definitely was a hard hitter.
