Since the 70's Drought Areas Have Doubled. Global Warming?

Carbon Rise Keeps Water in Drylands

LONDON—The drylands of the world are getting greener, and researchers think it is thanks to higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. In a paradoxical discovery, even as landscapes become increasingly at risk of desertification, they may also look more luxuriant.

Two scientists from Purdue University in Indiana, US, and a researcher in Saudi Arabia report in the journal Scientific Reports that they analysed 45 satellite studies from eight countries to confirm that the drylands of the world are responding to global warming and climate change by getting greener.

Soil water in the moister zones increased by 9%. In drylands, it went up by 17%.

*******************************************************************

Here we have proof that the scare stories about global warming claims are not happening, as drylands are getting greener. Soil water went up 17%, so there is no drought like they said would happen. In the U.S. only one state out of 50 even had severe drought. Plants like CO2, it is time to face the truth.

Searing Heat Waves Could Become Annual Threat

The scorching, deadly heat waves that today strike only about once every 20 years could become an annual occurrence for more than half the world if nothing is done to curb emissions of heat-trapping greenhouse gases, a new study reported Tuesday.

They found that for more than half of the world’s land area, such heat waves would become an annual event by 2075 (possibly even occurring more than once a year). Some of the worst affected areas were the northern tiers of North America, Europe and Asia, as well as the central part of South America.

**************************************************************

So they think they can forecast heat waves out 60 years but can't tell us the weather for tomorrow, like anyone will believe them. And no, this is not a new study. It is the same old study just made up by different people to say the same thing.

Farm report: Montana to lose millions to climate change

Montana agriculture losses to climate change could total $736 million a year, estimates an economic study prepared for Montana Farmers Union. Warmer temperatures and drier summers are withering the future of Montana spring wheat, a major cash crop for state farmers, according to the report released Wednesday.

The study concludes that annual precipitation will actually increase from now to 2055, but more of that moisture will be rain, reducing winter snowpack and shortening the irrigation season. The climate forecasts are based on research by Third National Climate Assessment by the U.S. Global Change Research Program.

************************************************************

Wow, they can forecast the weather and climate out 40 years to 2055? And based on that know what farmers will be growing and calculate what the price of wheat is and how much they will lose on it? I don't think so, they can't even forecast this for next year, let alone 40 years.

Did Global Warming Slow Down in the 2000s, or Not?

Climate models, which are virtual representations of our planet, project that temperatures were much higher in the early 2000s than was the case in reality. Scientists have been trying to understand why.

There are other explanations for the slowdown and also for why climate models did not project it. It is possible that the world is not as sensitive to greenhouse gases as the models assume or factors that cool the planet are playing a bigger role than expected, Fyfe said.

“These models are not perfect, and they might be overly sensitive,” he said.

*********************************************************************

Thanks for admitting what many of us already knew, your climate models are horrible and should never have been trusted to scare everyone into believing that ice caps would melt, people would starve, we would get massive heat waves, economies would crumble, diseases would spread, and a whole host of other bad things would happen.

It also became quite obvious this was a scam when "global warming" turned into "climate change" so everything that changes could be blamed on this, including blizzards and record snowfall. Nobody trusts this scam anymore.

Climate change benefits the rich at the expense of the poor, study finds

Climate change, it has been found, is causing important natural resources to move towards the Earth's poles, thereby taking wealth away from the poorest nations nearest the equator.

Rises in temperature are forcing fish, plants, trees and other species to move away from temperate zones towards the poles.

According to a paper entitled "Wealth reallocation and sustainability under climate change", which was published in the journal Nature Climate Change, this mass redistribution of resources both natural and human benefits the wealthiest countries in the northern hemisphere.

**********************************************************

They expect people to believe that fish, plants and trees are moving to the poles, lol. Fish can swim, but plants and trees might have a hard time of it. So this is another candidate for dumbest global warming study of all time.

I was reading this article in this morning's newspaper that got me to chuckling. it was titled 'listening to the trees'.

all about these towers in our local forests taking constant and continuous measurements of water vapor and carbon dioxide absorption, one of the main reasons for (drum roll please), our new term, climate warming!

first there was global warming which became climate change...

now we have climate warming, the newest in term consolidations. :D

the article got me to thinkin' about 'Death Hunt', the 1981 adventure film starring lee marvin as a relentless canadian mountie named edgar millan and charles bronson as fugitive albert johnson. a great film with an underrated jerrold immel score.

anyways, here they are pursuing johnson through the canadian wilderness and along comes this flyer who thinks he's hot moose dump. he has top secret info on johnson which he gives to our ground pursuers saying something like "I don't have to tell you that all this is highly confidential and top secret."

and carl weathers who plays sundog lets out with one of the best lines in the whole picture...

"well, who are we gonna tell...the trees?"

A very good film with an outcome similar to

The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) - another very good film, IMHO.

California leak was top methane release in US history
A natural gas leak that sickened Los Angeles residents and forced thousands from their homes was the largest known release of climate-changing methane in U.S. history, scientists reported Thursday.

SoCalGas said in the SEC filing on Feb. 11 that it expects the blowout to cost $250 million to $300 million to pay for lost gas, capping the well and relocating 6,400 families. The leak has been blamed for bloody noses, headaches, nausea, rashes and respiratory problems. Some residents who returned home already have continued to complain of symptoms.

***************************************************************************

Too bad they couldn't find a Republican to blame in California for this, so it got no national coverage even though it hurt thousands of families and is still making people sick. This was also a very large leak that harmed the environment, no wonder California is still the most polluted state in the Country.

Study: More hazardous tropical cyclones to hit Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Tropical cyclones in the Philippines are becoming more extreme causing greater amounts of devastation and loss of life, a new study finds.

It found that in the last two decades, there has been a slight decrease in the number of smaller cyclones (above 118 kilometers per hour) that hit the country. “By analyzing this data from the past up to the present, we can better adapt to further climate change and prepare for future disasters,” Ortiz said.

******************************************************************

They said the same thing about Florida ten years ago and they have not had any major hurricanes since. Now they have to scare the Philippines.

Hillary visited Flint, MI but did not visit the gas leak in California and talk to the thousands of families displaced and sickened there. It is all political as usual, meanwhile one story gets covered and one doesn't.

Proof-

California methane leak - 74,000 results

Flint, MI water - 1,700,000 results

Over twenty times the coverage for Flint, MI. In one they found a Republican to blame, the other they couldn't. Had California had a Republican Governor you could be sure it would be that persons fault and Hillary would have been there in one day to make sure everyone knew it. This is why people are voting for Trump, both issues should have been treated equally.

Why keep wasting billions -- when global warming STOPPED in 1998?

Justin Trudeau, an illustrious prime minister, will host a meeting of premiers this week to push for a national price on carbon to fight climate change.

But in light of new evidence that global warming has stopped, isn't it time to cut out all the climate spending?

********************************************************************

There are a billion better things to spend that money on than global warming and rich climate scientists.

Climate change: Global warming fruit and veg shortage could lead to 1,200 extra UK deaths a year by 2050

Climate change could lead to more than 1,200 extra deaths a year in the UK by 2050 as global warming causes fruit and vegetable shortages, new research suggests.

The typical British diet will deteriorate as the effects of climate change hit crop production, resulting in supply shortages and pushing up prices, Oxford University researchers said.

*************************************************************************

Fruit and vegetable shortages, what will they think of next to scare us about, lol. Like anyone is going to believe it. They said where I live we would have a drier Winter and instead we are having record rain.

Food scarcity caused by climate change could cause 500,000 deaths by 2050, study suggests

The effects of climate change on food production around the world could lead to more than 500,000 deaths by the year 2050, according to a grim new study. Climate-related impacts on agriculture could lead to an overall global decline in food availability, the research suggests, forcing people to eat fewer fruits and vegetables and less meat. And the public health impacts of these changes could be severe.

Climate experts have long predicted severe consequences for global food security if serious steps are not taken to mitigate climate change. Rising temperatures, more frequent droughts and more severe weather events are expected to cause agriculture in certain areas to suffer, all while the global population — and its demand for food — continues to skyrocket.

****************************************************************************

Now they have another study than claims 500,000 will starve to death thanks to global warming, and they predict it to happen by that magical year 2050.  I am already shaking. I guess they haven't heard of genetically modified crops that will increase yields and improve farming. Warm weather is also good for plants, they will have longer growing seasons if it did happen.

The doctored science of global warming

Whistleblowers within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) complained last year that a major study by agency researcher Thomas Karl, refuting evidence of a pause in global warming, had been rushed to publication. The implication was that the study was coordinated with Obama administration officials to add to the urgency of the president’s climate change agenda in advance of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris. Republicans on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology issued a subpoena of records of NOAA communications dealing with the study.

***************************************************************************

This whole scam has been coordinated, a lot of scare studies happened just prior to the conference, and many studies point to the year 2050 as some magical moment where the Earth becomes a terrible place to live. Nobody believes it anymore, but they still get funding to continue this and it is all a waste.

If only the overwhelming majority of the world's scientists would just listen to your wisdom, this whole scam would go away and we could go back to pumping out all the coal smoke and black toxic clouds of industrial waste into the atmosphere just like in the good old early days of the industrial revolution. And you know once they smarten up and review the knowledgeable, carefully-researched data that you have conveniently compiled on this classic-movie cable channel's message board, then every tax payer will receive a check for all that wasted money that will no longer be taxed. Or better yet, they can take those tax savings and reinvest them into developing a new, totally necessary weapon system or aircraft for the military. Good work, MM!

You are obviously mixing up the difference between pollution and global warming. That doesn't surprise me as this is what they do to get funding for these scare studies. Why aren't all the sewage spills up in Canada being reported as causing global warming? I heard this morning somebody claim farming and eating meat causes global warming too. It is used as a pawn to get whatever they need politically.

BTW why wasn't global warming running rampant back when they did that polluting, I guess the theory fails again.
