Jacques Rivette's Celine and Julie Go Boating (1974) is one of my favorite French films. At 192 minutes, it's too short! It's a gorgeous film, and a fuss should be made of it this 150th anniversary year of Alice in Wonderland, to which it is sort of an homage.

 

But -- In a few weeks, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is showing a Rivette rarity: all 13-hours of Noli me Tangere (1971)! Unfortunately, it's being shown in episodes, over several days. If it were over a two-day period, I would go. 

 

I'd like to see some Rivette on TCM.
