slaytonf Posted January 29, 2016 Share Posted January 29, 2016 I believe that most forum software imposes delay of approx. ten seconds. This is not generally noticeable to humans but was deadly to early spambots. This delay was considered great success because it was invisible to users but reduced spam considerably. Modern spamming software often allows user to insert a list of forums to spam simultaneously. The posting interval must be set greater than the longest delay imposed by any of those sites. Even one site which requires a delay of a minute raises the bar for all sites being spammed at the same time. I notice attacks here most often have one minute intervals on the posts. limey Posted February 2, 2016 Share Posted February 2, 2016 When the mods have finished the cleanup in aisles (pages) 1 & 2, perhaps they might consider sending a complaint towards the abuse desk of the registrar of the domains being pushed by the Korean Spam Fairy (if they haven't already)? They seem to be registered with same registrar - who will probably try to wriggle out by saying that the spam isn't actually being posted from their systems, but who might take a dim view of domains they're sponsoring being associated with repeated forum spamming. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
