What memories do you have of that show?

It was a favorite of mine, even though I kept missing the beginning of the episodes because I did not have a watch. That anthology was my introduction to such stories as THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES and RAPUNZEL.

I was seven years old when that show started, and probably(ahem!) figured I was too old for such childish nonsense.  I do think, however, I did watch a few of the episodes, but not many.

Y'know....it might not hurt for TCM to show those old story episodes on Saturdays...not only for the kiddies THESE days, but for the kiddies of YESTERYEAR to get all misty-eyed with nostalgia.  :)

They're available on a single DVD or a set if you're interested.  TCM showing them?...might as well air Captain Kangaroo.

Here is an ad for them.

A bit of trivia, the girl Madeline in the stroybook is Gina Gillespie who played the young 1917 Blanche Hudson in "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane" (1962)

Her sister Darlene Gillespie was one of the Mousketeers on the original edition of "The Mickey Mouse Club."
