censoring movies

They used to; there's much less of it today, usually blamed on either pulling the wrong copy from the library (as with No Blade of Grass) or mixup at the outside studio from which a non-library title is leased. Of course, they don't run a whole lot of movies that would require much censorship. But they do occasionally run more recent films, from the 70s/80s/90s, which include nudity or strong language. Mostly these turn up in post-10 PM runs. You can be pretty sure that a recent film airing on TCM will not be the edited-for-TV print.
