Saw a surreal horror movie on TCM with voodoo?

I saw this film a while back on TCM. It was part of a series. The lead villain was a loa I think, like Baron Samedi. Big hat. He could follow people in their dreams. I think it was black and white and silent but not necessarily pre-50s.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? This is driving me crazy!

A while back?  How far?  A month?  Two?  More?

What series?  A series of movies by the same whatever?  Or a serial like the Batman adventures they're playing on Saturday mornings?

The only thing I can think of close to what you say is White Zombie (1932), with Bela Lugosi:

I believe it was in October, 2010. Yes - a series of three movies, I think. Possibly by a latino director although I might be wrong there.

Definitely not White Zombie. Much more surreal/experimental.

The only other movie I can think of is I Walked With a Zombie (1943), starring Francis Dee, and directed by Jacques Tourneur.  It's one of Val Lewton's horror movies and usually gets played in October for their Halloween-fest.  It's not surreal, so much as otherworldly:

Found it! I was thinking of the Coffin Joe series. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jos%C3%A9_Mojica_Marins#Z.C3.A9_do_Caix.C3.A3o:_The_Coffin_Joe_character
