Kayla
This is my third time requesting a name for a movie. Im deeply sorry. I watched all these movies last year and i didnt really care if i knew the name for them or not. But now i do. I have a list of all the movies i have watched recently, but anyways... This movie took place in the 50s or 60s. I think it was a USA film. It was black and white. Theres a man who got amnesia or couldnt remember who he was. He walks around the busy streets in New York. He sees a woman that he thinks he remembers. but they have never met before and they talk in a bar (i suppose) and he tells her his story (that he doesnt even remember his name). They talk some more. She has a thick New York accent and is very pretty. Well i believe they start dating and trying to raise money by playing illegal dice with other people. He's actually very good at it and wins alot of money. but the man also sees a blonde woman. And i think this is from this movie or it could be from another. (hopefully these will help): a short man sees the man who lost his memory and tells the police. The man runs away. Thats all i could remember. I appreciate any help and thanks for reading this. vallo13
It sounds like 1946's "Somewhere in the Night" with John Hodiak and Nancy Guild. Directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz ,it takes place in Los Angeles not NY. it was just released on DVD. Check IMDb.com for more info. vallo
cahuenga123
It sounds a lot like Mr. Buddwig starring James Garner. Here is the synopsis from IMDB. A well-dressed man wakes up on a bench in New York's Central Park, with no idea of who he is, or how he got there. All he can find in his pockets are a train schedule, a couple of drug capsules, and a piece of paper with a phone number on it. On his right hand: a ring with a cracked stone; engraved on the inside of the band is the inscription, "From G.V." Armed with these meager clues, the man, adopting the name "Buddwing" (inspired by a passing Budweiser beer truck and a plane flying overhead), sets out to learn his true identity. Along the way, he encounters three different women, each of whom reminds him in some way of someone named "Grace."
