Dysthymia
Hi. I read many of the classic movie sites and I came across a movie question from someone on another board. Ever so often, I check back to see if anyone discovered this movie title for the questioner but no one has. And now the movie and it's title is driving ME crazy. I cut and pasted the query below and, as weird as it sounds, this scenario sounds familiar to me, too. Does anyone know the movie? Only one person responded to the question and wrote that if the movie was in the fifties "it couldn't have been Kirk Douglas". That sounds wrong but no one has ever discovered what movie this may be. It was black and white comedy , made in the early fifties. It starred Kirk Douglas as a health nut who was wooing a young widow with 2 small boys. I don't remember much specific except there was one scene where he takes her to his favorite health bar or juice bar, and orders "potassium cocktails". She looks dubious until he assures her they are "non alcoholic" which makes her even more dubious Anyone? helenwheels
I checked the filmography on Imdb.com for Kirk Douglas and none of the movies besides The Devil's Disciple had any comic moments in them. Most were dramatic movies. But that doesn't mean he didn't make any comedies but maybe it was another actor.
Dysthymia
Hey, thank you for trying. I sometimes wish I had never read that movie question. I'm thinking perhaps it isn't Kirk Douglas either...but I can't seem to let it go. But many thanks for trying, that was really nice of you. :-)
cash5562
Kirk made a few comedies, but the only one I can find from that era in black and white was My Dear Secretary with Loraine Day.
