aubrielle Posted February 18, 2006 Share Posted February 18, 2006 I'll repost my question on this board... My mother and I are trying to remember the name of an old western movie. From what I remember, the plot was about a woman who was a saloon owner/singer who was trying to get outlaw arrested. She called the sheriff but for some reason the sheriff didn't show up in time, so to keep the guy from running off, she agrees to marry him! On their wedding night, she is frantically trying to keep him from consumating their union(so to speak) but the next morning, you see the evidence that they did sleep together. Unfortunately, this is when the sheriff finally shows up to arrest the man. She's feels some remorse about what she's done and is sorry that her 'husband' is being sent to jail. I remember her saying to the sheriff, "I don't know if you came too soon or came too late". Five years go by and the man gets out of jail and gets to meet the product of their one night together; a little girl who is just as much a spitfire as her mother. The little girl gives him a lot of grief throughout the film, but it's so funny watching this outlaw trying to control a five year old.
