stryder989
Ever since the web site makeover debacle started this year, the Remind Me email notification has been out of whack. This was a great feature in the past but since January, email reminders are sent after movies have started or after they've even aired completely. The TCM webmaster had been made aware of the issue and claimed this problem was fixed effective February 3 but the problem persists. I received a notification at 12:50 last night for a movie which started at 12:00. This happens all the time but I think I've figured out what the problem is. To go along with the "classic" theme of films shown on the channel, I suspect this web site is run with "classic computers" such as the 70's-80's era Radio Shack TRS-80 or 1946's vacuum-tubed speed demon ENIAC. TCM, please get some computers from this millennium and a programmer to run them who has learned something past 1950's era FORTRAN and FIX THIS PROBLEM. stryder989
They just did it again. "Nashville" was scheduled to air 9:30-12:30 PST. TCM emailed me at 12:30 on the nose. Thanks again for nothing TCM!
dogmo
This was a GREAT feature. Also missing -- or not findable by me at this time -- is a place to reset your time zone for the movie schedules -- I'm AMAZED that that is either hidden or missing. ipalco
There is something else which needs to be added to the Remind Me feature: the title of the movie/program in the subject line of the e-mail, not the sterile "TCMReminder".
stryder989
Yeah, it used to have the movie title in the email subject line. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for that feature to be added back. They either don't care about fixing the problems with the web site or are just too inept to. I mean these problems started with the new year. It's almost March and things are still screwed up.
stryder989
TCM.com did it again. I set a reminder for "The Buddy Holly Story" which aired last night from 9:00 to 11:00 PST. So what time did TCM.com send me my reminder? 1:11 am this morning, just over 2 hours after the movie finished airing! It's now March 1st and the stooges running this web site still have not fixed this problem.
Guest
Hello - We have tested the Reminder ability and by our tests, we have received emails 24 hours before they have aired. We have posted elsewhere on these boards that if you have set any reminders prior to Feb. 3rd, this will not be the case - and you may receive a reminder close to air. Any reminders set before Feb.3rd will need to be reset. If you set your reminder after Feb. 3rd and still received this - please help us by forwarding the email to us on our Contact Us page: http://www.turnerclassicmovies.com/TCMCFA/feedback.jsp And we will make every effort to correct. Thanks tcmweb
