Happy Birthday Jennifer Jones!

Recommended Posts

Actually I havn't found an ounce of evidence that "The Last New Yorker" is starring the "real" Jennifer Jones. There is some softcore porn star that uses the same name and I suspect this could is who it could be. IMDB.com has this movie in the "real" Jennifer Jones' filmography but I think its a mix-up.

Some members may be surprised or even shocked to know that Jennifer Jones starred in an 'R' rated film titled "Cult of the Damned" aka "Angel, Angel, Down We Go" in 1969. It was a role that Jeanne Crain turned down.

It's about an overweight teenager who is distraught when her rock and roll lover begins an affair with her jewelry obsessed mother (Jones).

It was psychadelic trash with Miss Jones uttering lines like "I made 40 stag films and never faked an ****".

Poor Roddy McDowell was along for the ride, and his lines were no better.

One critic said "Selznick must be spinning in his grave".

Supposedly, she wears the same evening gown in this film as she would later wear in "The Towering Inferno".

The star of "The Last New Yorker" is Dominic Chianese who is 'Junior' on "The Sopranos", so it is possible that the real Jennifer Jones could be the movie.

mongo: No offense, but this is a thread wishing Jennifer a happy birthday. I don't see how it is necessary to try and belittle Miss Jones with bringing up her worst movie. She was a wonderful actress and one of the most beautiful. She is also a very generous woman as she donates hundreds of thousands to various charities every year.

Hi,

I didn't mean to start any controversy; so I, too, apologize......

You're right - Miss Jones is a gem in the glittering jewelled stars in the Hollywood heavens. A true star and a great actress.

Hi,

Don't feel bad. I started the wayward flow by asking a question that should have been placed in the "Information, Please" area.

Back on track:

Happy Birthday, Jennifer and many, many more
