I saw a movie on TCM last night at 2:00 a.m. Central time. It had only dogs actors. They were dressed as people, and walked on their hind legs. It was not scheduled to play at that time. It was very funny until the end. I would love to know the name of the movie and what year it was made.

I think it might be:

Dogville

1929--

Type: Series

Rating: NR

PLOT DESCRIPTION

One of the first successful short film series of the sound era, during the period 1929-1931 MGM produced nine Dogville shorts, using dogs instead of human actors to lampoon their most popular films. Much of the series was written and directed by Zion Myers and Jules White, who also provided the human voices for many of the dogs. The high-point of the series was the 1930 film The Dogway Melody, which spoofed the musical genre. ~ Richard Gilliam, All Movie Guide

Oh man! You saw that too! Had me and a couple friends roaring.

I cant believe I saw that on tv, made my freakin night.

This is like a must-have kind of show. Now that I know what it is called I have to know if I can buy it or not. Anyone out there know?

Thanks for the info!

TCM ran a marathon of all nine Dogville shorts a couple of years back. I think I still have them all on VHS--I moved a couple of months ago and my tapes are still in a bit of disarray. If anyone would be interested, I could check and see if I can find the tape and copy it for you.

(Seems like the only one I ever catch on reruns is the college football spoof...)
