I remembered how much you adore Ranse and that your favorite actress of all time is Grace Kelly, Theresa. Imagine, you freeze our your little "lamby" in one thread and you're going to heartlessly neglect her man in another on Wednesday. You sure get vicious when you turn on a lambchop. And I guess you were too busy trying to catch the boys instead of trying to play catch with your cousin.* He played his little league games at the American Legion ballpark so it was definitely very Americana. Me and some of the other kids who weren't playing would run around and play on the other fields and we always had fun. There were some cute boys on his teams and I always liked walking along behind the dugout giving them bubble gum . ArchieLeech Posted May 6, 2008 Share Posted May 6, 2008 Fans of Cooper should be sure to pick up MGM's DVD of The Westerner on 5/13. It's a great western, with Walter Brennan as Judge Roy Bean. Directed by William Wyler too. The disc was delayed a year or so back, but now it's finally coming out. The release comes out the same day as Cooper's Anthony Mann-directed western Man of the West. The two later flicks of course will be shown in glorious colour and widescreen and I can't wait to see them on the 50" Sony LCD I recently purchased just for these two Coop Classics ! (well for these and a few others I suppose) It's great to see all of the Cooper movies being shown on TCM on his birthday. Just a few years ago I don't think the powers that be at that fine station would have even considered a Gary retrospective. Certainly congratulations must be given to the four ladies who dominate this thread.I feel they are in part responsible for giving the programmers at TCM reason to rethink their position on this truly great actor who seems to inspire more actors each year with his minimalism. (well for these and a few others I suppose) Hi Mr J! Ha! You sound like Angie (Coopsgirl) there---she recently got a great big flatscreen Hi-Def TV just so she can see Gary more clearly than ever. I wish I could but it wouldn't fit in my tiny apartment! I'm really excited about the dvd releases and, of course, I'll be tuning in as often as I can tomorrow. coopsgirl Posted May 6, 2008 Share Posted May 6, 2008 April is right, I also bought a 50" plasma so Gary and the Astros would look even better, and boy they sure do . I'm glad I'm not the only who has done that. I have preordered all his releases for this month and should be getting them this weekend as preordered stuff usually arrives a few days before it's available in stores. I'm watching *Garden of Evil* first b/c it will be in widescreen and much better than the pan and scan version with commercials that I have from AMC.
