The Way They Introduce The Essentials is Still Really Dumb

Recommended Posts

Agreed.   And one of my favorite films, "The Killers" (1946) has been aired many times but not as an Essential.   This film was perfectly cast all around, terrific acting and a dark twisty film noir that expands on Hemingway's story.   Burt Lancaster's first film.   And that Miklos Roza theme which was the basis for the Dragnet series!   Is this not an essential film noir, or what?

Rarely does a film noir get selected as an Essential. This is Eddie Muller territory.
