It's a Miklos Rozsa night

Recommended Posts

I just noticed that of the Deborah Kerr movies airing tonight, three in a row have great scores by film composer Miklos Rozsa: Young Bess, Julius Caesar, and Quo Vadis.

Rozsa was an amazing composer whose scores included film noir (Double Indemnity, The Killers, A Double Life, Naked City, etc.), epics (Ben-Hur, King of Kings, Quo Vadis), costume pictures (Young Bess, Diana, Madame Bovary, Ivanhoe, Plymouth Adventure, etc.), fantasies (Thief of Bagdad, Time After Time, Golden Voyage of Sinbad, etc.), thrillers (Spellbound, The Power, etc.), dramas (The Lost Weekend, etc.) and more.
