constarkel
Does anyone know if there is an intermission during this movie? And if so, when does it occur? I need to set my alarm so I can get up and change the DVD. Thanks
sweetbabykmd
Constarkel, in reading the notes on Quo Vadis it says that at the premier and on the road shows an intermission was included. Unfortunately you won't know if TCM will include that or at what time. Hopefully next time they show this it will be at a normal hour.
constarkel
Thanks sweetbabykmd, I guess I will just set the alarm for halfway through and take my chances. Generally they insert the intermission approximately 3/5 to 2/3 of the way through a long movie, but who knows? I guess that I will after tonight. katyscar11ett
Con, did it work? I'm pretty sure the intermission IS half way through - but that's sure taking a chance. I used to - before I got my beloved DVR - actually set my alarm clock and was sometimes up 3 and 4 times a night. Dedication, hmmm?! Or could it be stupidity? Oh, well - either way heheh - do let us know if you got the movie.
constarkel
It turns out that Quo Vadis is shown straight through with no intermission. That is 171 minutes without interuption. I got up at the approximate halfway point (4:15am) and just waited for my first DVD to run out (right before the lion feeding scene) and then put in a new DVD...only losing about 2 minutes in the process. I could have made it easy on myself and just recorded it in 4-hour mode, but I did that with Ben-Hur recently and wasn't satisfied with the quality. The greater loss was missing "Thank Your Lucky Stars" this morning which I mistakenly thought started at 10:30am, but really started at 7:30am. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the TCM online schedule? Mine flip-flops between ET and PT even though it always says ET in the box. Usually I catch it and reload the page, but I guess I didn't last night.
