DwayneBrue
I ordered Errol Flynn's Autobiography the other day and I can't wait to start reading it! He was one of the greats!!
nyoka1
There was once an unexpurgated first edition with possibly libelous material that had to be taken out for subsequent editions! http://greenbriarpictureshows.blogspot.com/
jarhfive
Hello, The version I received from Amazon (published in 2003 by Cooper Square Press) has excised parts of "My Wicked, Wicked Ways" placed back in the auto-biography. What a great read! Now...Dwayne. I hope you included "Beam Ends" on your list of Errol Flynn 'reads'. I am half-way through "Beam Ends" and it is great writing. I was mistaken thinking the book was a novel. "Beam Ends" is Flynn's recollection of a trip from Australia to New Guinea on his 'boat'--the Sirocco. First published in 1937, my book is a 2002 re-print. Fast read. Rusty
DwayneBrue
I started reading Beam Ends about a month ago, and all I can say is wow! Errol Flynn did more in a lifetime than I could do. Dwayne
MattHelm
Wait. Are you saying you read an Errol Flynn autobio? No way. How does it compare to Hayden's writing?
jarhfive
MattHelm, Quote: "Are you saying you read an Errol Flynn autobio?" Are you fishing for details? I could write several paragraphs worth, but get "My Wicked, Wicked Ways" and 'check it out' for yourself. It is a great read! And who is this "Hayden" fellow? BTW: Off subject, but what the heck. I recommend watching the TCM broadcast of the movie "Superfly". Scheduled for next month. Rusty
MattHelm
Superfly? Is that the movie adaptation of Hayden's Wanderer? I can't wait to see the part where he gets suckered into going to the party where his friend is in drag and makes a pass at him, while Curtis Mayfield jives along.
