relax
Paul Newman... Robert Redford?????
daneldorado
Sounds like Clint Eastwood and Garry Marshall, but I don't know the title of the film. Dan N.
bradtexasranger
Is it from Paint Your Wagon?
txrd999
the line isn't from paint your wagon, but one of the actors is. as to paul newman or robert redford? it is one of those two answering the question. we also have boss from "cool hand luke" in this movie. and a young actor that will later go on to be big in television. it was earlier than the sting. hint: this is not as famous of a movie as it should be, or was projected to be. here also is some more to the conversation. "well goats have horns?!" " what do you want with the horns?" "i like to stick em in things."
relax
I think the person who says I like to stick`m in things is Robert redford... if so , I have to sit & think as I just heard this recently. Trish
txrd999
it was not Robert Redford..... so that leaves Paul newman...... it is a lesser know film of his, before he did the sting... and includes an actor from "paint your wagon"
daneldorado
So that leaves: Paul Newman and Lee Marvin, in "Pocket Money" (1972). Dan N.
txrd999
yes woooooooo.... i think maybe that was a bit obscure.....my fault sorry. i sometimes forget that one of my favorite movies might not be someone else's. sorry about that....that took a while, i am messing up the whole flow. i guess i just thought more people had seen it. thanks Dan your turn
daneldorado
Here's a line from a famous movie which I'm pretty sure we've all seen at least once, if not many times: "That dummy doesn't look anything like me. Maybe it's supposed to be one of you." Who said that, and in what film? Dan N. http://www.silentfilmguide.com
Bartlett
Red Buttons in "The Longest Day"?
vallo13
John Cassavetes in "The Dirty Dozen"? vallo
daneldorado
No, not John Cassavetes nor Red Buttons. You've got the right idea, though. Obviously you have figured out that the speaker of the quote is speaking to a group of people, not only to one. Who said the line, and in what film? Dan N. http://www.silentfilmguide.com
vallo13
Frank Sinatra as Pvt. Angelo Maggio in "From Here to Eternity"? vallo
daneldorado
Frank Sinatra as Pvt. Angelo Maggio in "From Here to Eternity"? Nope, not that one... but the movie in question IS in black and white. Dan N.
Bartlett
William Holden in "Stalag 17"?
norbell
hi dan like everyone else, i've heard this. but where? how about king donovan in 'invasion of the body snatchers'? norbell
daneldorado
Whoa! Back off, everyone. So far, there have been four (4) responses to my little trivia question. They are all incorrect, but I've just noticed something else: Most of the guesses so far are from war movies! Sorry if I've misled you... I don't think I have... but WHY would you all think the line comes from a movie about war? World War II, no less. The line I'm asking about is NOT from a war movie. It was made during peacetime. Here's another hint: The line, and the scene it's in, is in a very civilized venue, and the characters are all civilians. Hope that helps. So: "That dummy doesn't look anything like me. Maybe it's supposed to be one of you." Who said that, and in what film? Dan N. http://www.silentfilmguide.com
Bill_McCrary
"That dummy doesn't look anything like me. Maybe it's supposed to be one of you." Could it have been Charlie McCarthy in "The Goldwyn Follies"? Bill
LueBMone
> > "That dummy doesn't look anything like me. Maybe it's > supposed to be one of you." > > Who said that, and in what film? > > Just a guess, Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein? Leda
LueBMone
Actually, I think it should be Gene Wilder who said the line, funnier that way.
daneldorado
Sorry, nope. Not Gene Wilder or Marty Feldman. In the movie in question, the speaker is addressing his board of directors. Got it now? Dan N.
txrd999
i know this is a complete shot in the dark, but it almost reminds me of something from "oceans 11" with Sinatra....didn't he call the "rat pack" his board of directors.... like i said very wild guess. karith
inglis
Is is Executive Suite.just a wild guess
txrd999
or is he the "chairman of the board" either way i believe it is Sinatra... maybe ocean11 or robin and the 7 hoods.... they are both kinda mixed in my head right now:) karith
relax
Charles Coburn in the movie with Jean Arthur about the store guy posing as a worker.???.. the dummy was in the protest parade.
