Swithin
The great Italian director Ettore Scola died earlier this week in Rome. He wrote and directed many wonderful movies, his best known probably being A Special Day and We All Loved Each Other So Much. My favorite Ettore Scola film is the very special La Nuit de Varennes, a film I went to see several times when it was released. The film featured Marcello Mastroianni as an aging Casanova. Jean-Louis Barrault, Hanna Schuygulla, Harvey Keitel, Jean-Claude Brialy, and Andrea Ferreol were also in the cast. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/21/movies/ettore-scola-italian-film-director-of-satire-and-farce-dies-at-84.html
