FredCDobbs
Times and Dates on Schedules I think TCM schedules should post the correct times and dates. For example, ?In Which We Serve? will be shown tomorrow (Monday) at 1:30 AM Eastern time, although it is listed as being shown on May 7th (Sunday). Today is May 7th. Tomorrow at 1:30 AM is May 8th. A day ends at midnight. A midnight time begins the next day. After midnight tonight, it will be May 8th. So, ?In Which We Serve? will actually be shown at 1:30 AM on Monday May 8th, not on Sunday May 7th.
markfp2
Fred, you've got a interesting point, but like all channels TCM follows the "broadcast day" ,which usually starts at 6am, so anything before that is considered the day before. I guess it started back in the pre-24-hour a day cable days, when all tv stations use to sign off at midnight or 1am and went dark until they signed on again in the morning.Maybe even before that in the early days or radio. If just a few channels switched, I think it would be very confusing for the viewer who watches more than one channel or is trying to record different channels. For it to really work, all of them would have to do it.
FredCDobbs
All my VCRs, DVDs, alarm clocks, TV auto turn-on times, are all set for what has been the world standard for 2,000 years. Today ends at midnight, and Tomorrow begins at midnight. There is no way anyone can set their VCRs or TVs to turn on, using the TCM time/date system. No clocks use it, no recorders use it, no countries use it, nobody uses it.
CharlieT
Just a thought, and I may be way off base here, but if the listing is for EDT at 1:30 AM, then wouldn't the PDT time listing actually fall on the previous day, since it would be before midnight there? Although that wouldn't fit the scenario you mentioned (unless you live in the PDT zone, and I'm assuming that Sierra Madre is,)it could explain multiple days for one listing.
