"The Red Shadow"

TCM has shown this short from time to time, but I haven't caught it in the three years I've been doing DVD's. I have it (at least once) on one of my tapes SOMEwhere (probably at LP), maybe twice. Won't be easy to locate, though, the way I file them.

I have written requesting that sometime (soon?!) they can show all three of the "Desert Song" movies - 1929, 1940s and 1950s. And, of course, they ought to show the short with whichever one they happen to be showing. I have a VHS made from Miss Manning's personal film some ten years ago (talked with her at a film festival in Memphis, probably 1995), and I believe I have a good VHS from TCM of the Gordon MacRae one. The 1929 I've never seen, but the way it's described here at TCM, they must really have it. Whether the (early) Technicolor still exists, I surely don't know, but they don't say it doesn't.

Still hoping...
